İlham Cəlilov 2-ci Qarabağ müharibəsinin qazisidir. Deyir ki, Füzuli, Xankəndi istiqamətlərində gedən döyüşlərdə iştirak edib və 3 dəfə yaralanıb. Ilham Cəlilovun sözlərinə görə, əlillik dərəcəsinin təyin olunmasına görə 3 dəfə müraciətinə baxmayaraq, ona imtina cavabı verilib. İlham Cəlilov müharibədən əvvəl ailəsini rahat dolandıra bildiyini, hazırda isə belə imkanının olmadığını deyir.
